Driving Lessons And Yoga
I start taking driving lessons next week. We got a really good offer when we started school, which basically gives you the theory course for free, if you sign up with the driving school thing before September 1. Tine already signed up, so I have to call them as soon as possible, and then maybe we'll get on the same group.
Technically, I can drive. I know all the basics, like starting the car without killing the battery, switch gears, put the car in reverse, use the windshield wipers (yay...), follow the speed limit (though maybe not ALL the time...) and do the ever-so tricky hill start. The problem is, when it comes to how the car works, what kind of sounds that's no good, what to do if this and that happens PLUS reading road signs... well, let's just say, those are not exactly my STRONG sides. In addition to start taking driving lessons, I also want to do some sort of new work out, since I'm having a problem with a foot right now (basically, I was born with a wonky right foot. I couldn't bend it downwards (curl it). That is fixed, but now, my foot sort of lands on the side when I walk. You can't tell, I don't limp or walk weird or anything, but it's hell to run with the foot like that, because it puts a lot of pressure on the wrong points of the sole of my foot, which in turn strains the entire body and can, if I don't get it straigthened out, make my whole spine crooked (as you can probably tell, a doctor told me all this. It gives me a headache just reading that. Please excuse me). Which, naturally, sucks. So, when I can't really run, what to do? I was thinking about yoga. To train up my balance, I think it's a good way to work out? But I have no experience with it, so I don't know, it was just an idea I got last night. Also, I have this doctor twisting my foot about once a month, to try and fix the whole problem-foot thing. He smells of old cat litter and is not a kind man. So I'm kind of leaning towards yoga.
