I've been translating articles on U.S politics from the New York Times as practice for my translating exams tomorrow and on June 2. I decided to be nice and so I sent the journalist who've written these articles a little note, saying how I've been using them for practice and thanks for providing me with well-written and interesting revising material.

I didn't really expect a reply, but lo and behold, in my inbox this morning was a nice little two-liner thanking me for my note and asking me to "keep in touch". Americans really shouldn't use that phrase as some sort of polite closing line. What if I took him up on that and started sending this New York Times reporter weekly newsletters on my exciting life?

Really.

I'm done with one exam and have five more to go. I think the first one, Norwegian grammar, went okay, but only time can tell, right?

Tomorrow is my next, and I'm in this weird place right now where I'm not feeling like it's important to study. I know it is, but I just can't bring myself to sit down and do it. On Friday I have my English grammar exam which will be really difficult and I don't really understand much of it, so I should be studying like crazy. Instead I'm embracing my newest hobby: Fashion scrapbooking.

I love InStyle! It's my favorite fashion magazine (that, and Elle). The really stupid thing though, is that I can't subscribe to the American edition of InStyle, because they don't allow international subscribers. So I have to buy it over the counter here, which costs me approximately 4 times as much as it does to buy it in the US. Bastards.

I'm saving up money for the Barcelona trip but it's not really going well. No surprises there, really. There are just too many pretty things out there.
